Leeds, 1916. On the eve of joining the Chapeltown Rifles, William Redmond and his younger brother Samuel take a walk on the moor. Having lived too long in his brother's shadow, Samuel attacks him with a stone. When William wakes, it is a different world through which he walks. Samuel has vanished and nobody will tell William where he is.
